Whether you''ve still an event ahead of you this season, or you want one more coached open water experience, this session will allow you to specifically train in relation to fitness and endurance in the Open Water.
You will be directed to a swim set, appropriate for you (as you do on
a Wednesday Swim Session) at the start of the session, which you will
complete within the hour.
If this is your first time in open water, there
will be opportunity to consider and revise skills specific to open water
swimming
(acclimatisation, sighting, breathing, drafting and such like).
Please bring a suitable wetsuit and goggles which must be worn. You will be given a brightly coloured swim cap.
Also bring a drink and appropriate nutrition.
We’ll meet, swim ready, at the picnic benches on the lakeside for a briefing before entering the water.
Please pay and signb in at the office.
Please note:
This session is open, only, to those swimmers who have previously attended a York Tri Club coached swim session and you must be certain that you can confidently swim at least 400m.
You must ensure you are fit and well enough to attend.
In attending this session you are expected to engage in accordance with York Triathlon Club''s policies and practices.
